On behalf of Marshalltown Area United Way, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who made Trivia Night on April 13th, held at the Marshalltown Arts & Civic Center (MACC), a tremendous success!
Our Emcee, Jeff Schneider and wife, Kelli spent countless hours organizing the event with many rounds of fun and challenging trivia with categories like Marshalltown roads, music, and the grand finale… expensive vs. cheap where players compared and attempted to identify high-end whiskey, wine, chips and much more. This fundraiser was made possible with the help of our volunteers - Julie Hitchens, Alyce Quastad and Zach Tomesch. Also, big supporters Rotary Club of Marshalltown supported us as a venue sponsor, Marshalltown (Company) and Emerson were Silver Sponsors.
We had 6 teams participate and raised over $2,900 for our 28 partner agencies. This is our 2nd consecutive event, and we are hopeful that we can make this an annual event! Additionally, an exciting aspect of the day was the 50/50 raffle which raised $500 and player Eric Wilson of Trivial Intelligence was the WINNER for the 2nd year in a row! Full Frontal Nerdity, last year’s Trivia Champios, were forced to give up the top spot and hand over the Trophy to Trivial Intelligence, our Emerson group. All in great fun, of course! A huge Thank you to Nancy Burke for a seamless set-up and drink cart service! Lastly, thank you to all participants for your generosity and continued support of Marshalltown Area United Way. United, We Are Stronger!
