Shannon Johnson, Events & Marketing Coordinator

Shannon was raised in Marshalltown and graduated from GMG Schools.  She is married to Chris and has 3 children, Cory, Kyle and Carly, a daughter-in-law, McKaylea and granddaughter Everlee.  She has worked as an elementary teacher in the Marshalltown Schools, and most recently as a Mentor Coordinator with Big Brothers Big Sisters.  She is also currently serving on her church council at Trinity Lutheran, the 13th Street board as well as a member of Assistance League.  She enjoys traveling, biking, hiking and time with family.

Mark Nymeyer, Board Member

Mark grew up in rural Marshalltown and graduated from East Marshall Community School District. He then completed his associate degree from MCC before obtaining his bachelor's in business at the University of Iowa. Mark has been with Emerson in Marshalltown for over 10 years, currently as their Global Marketing Communications Manager and recently completed 6 years on the Heart of Iowa Big Brothers Big Sisters board, including 4 years as Board President. He and his lovely wife Emily reside in Marshalltown and have two rambunctious children Piper and Dexter. Mark enjoys participating in Marshalltown Park and Rec sports, hunting, and outdoor fun with his family.

Kiel Stevenson, Board Member

Kiel has worked at the Marshalltown Polic Department for over 16 years. He lives in Marshalltown with his wife, Celsey, and two children (Abel & Faith). He is an active volunteer for many youth sports in our community.

Geoff Hubbard, Board Member

Geoff has been with the Parks & Recreation for the City of Marshalltown for the last three years. He is a 1989 graduate of MHS and enjoys being back in his hometown helping to improve the quality of life of community members through parks and recreation. Geoff has been married to his wife, Catherine, for 25 years. He has two boys in college, Jake and Luke, and has a labradoodle named Harper. He enjoys golfing, trivia nights, and taking his dog for walks around the parks in town. Geoff has served on many other boards during his previous 10 years in Council Bluffs and 10 years in Sioux city. He is looking to help on the United way board for many years to come!
