We are so thankful for your support of Marshalltown Area United Way and specifically our Power of the Purse event. The committee along with Midnight Garden provided an enjoyable and elegant event to raise money for our yearly campaign. We could not have been happier with our venue choice and the owners, Luisa & Ramon and their staff who were fantastic to work with. This year was a record breaker in many many ways: A record number of donations of 101 purses and 78 additional in-kind items that were paired together for 101 bid items that included purses, gift cards, jewelry, wine and much more. Also, a record number of attendees – 223 tickets sold AND our 1st ever Sponsors: Laurie Gowdy with Thrivent as the event’s Gold Sponsor, GNB Bank as our Wine Pull Sponsor and Cindy Brodin with Premier Real Estate as the Champagne Sponsor! Most importantly, a record amount of money raised at over $39,500 (up from $26,225 in 2022). Our event goal was $35,000 so we are thrilled to announce that we achieved that goal and more, which will support our annual campaign goal of $825,000.
