Abigail Pelzer is a lifelong volunteer who has years of nonprofit board experience and a strong passion for the Marshalltown community. Abigail is the Director of Strategic Initiatives for Iowa Valley Community College District and has lived and worked in the Marshalltown area for more than 15 years holding various leadership positions. She is known for her tenure at the Times-Republican where she served as both the editor and publisher. Abigail has a B.A. in Journalism from Grand View University and an MBA from the University of Iowa. Her family includes her fiancé Joe Casey, her son Brandon Pelzer, and two spoiled dogs. Abigail is a member of the Rotary Club of Marshalltown and serves on its membership and service committees. Her fun fact is that she once took a ride on a Goodyear Blimp.
